The IB Diploma programme is a comprehensive two-year course of study leading to external examinations at the end of Year 12. It is a rigorous pre-university study programme that provides students with a balanced education and excellent preparation for tertiary life. The IB DP (Diploma Programme) is a two year course usually completed in years 11 and 12. The IB DP encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The IB Diploma course consists of two major components:

  1. Students must study six subjects, and three must be at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). Students must study a first language, a second language, a Humanities subject, a Science subject, Mathematics, and a sixth subject from the Arts or of their choice from Sciences or Humanities.
  2. Students must study Theory of Knowledge and complete a 4000 word Research Essay in a subject of their choice, both of which are assessed externally. They must also participate in ‘Creativity, Action and Service’ or CAS as it generally known.
